Our client is an internationally active manufacturer of premium furnishings. With several brands and a multilingual team, the company achieves a turnover of between 50 and 500 million euros and employs between 500 and 2500 people.
The Mission: Challenges in E-Mail-Management
Prior to our collaboration, the company faced considerable challenges in the management of case emails. For the creation of new cases alone, there were 70 different email templates that differed according to language, company and recipient. In total, over 300 email templates had to be managed.
The management of the dispatch logic was extremely complex due to several thousand lines of APEX code. This led to the following problems:
- Lack of clarity and traceability: The large number of templates and the extensive code made it difficult to maintain an overview.
- Difficulties with maintenance: Changes to the templates or in the code were time-consuming and error-prone.
- Challenges in testing: The large number of templates and the complex code made testing and quality assurance difficult.
Unsere Lösung: Optimierung durch Visualforce und Custom Labels
To overcome these challenges, we developed a customized solution:
- Translation via Visualforce Email Templates & Custom Labels: By using Visualforce email templates and custom labels, we were able to make email communication more efficient and easily adapt the templates to different languages.
- Visualforce Components for modularization and reusability: Using Visualforce components, we created modular and reusable building blocks that simplified the management and customization of the email templates.
- Configurability via custom object: A user-defined object made it possible to easily configure and manage the e-mail templates without in-depth programming knowledge.
- Batch suitability: Our solution was batch-capable so that large volumes of emails could be processed efficiently.
- Integration into flows / low code: The solution could be easily integrated into existing business processes and workflows, reducing the need for extensive programming.
