Our client is an internationally active manufacturer of medical technology. The company operates in several languages and has a turnover of between 500 million and 5 billion euros. With over 5000 employees, it is one of the leading companies in its sector.
The Mission
Before the implementation of our solution, the information on the customer's products was only available in SAP. This information varies by country and is updated regularly. This data is crucial for the sales representatives as it could contain details on availability and successor products. As the sales staff only work in Salesforce, they could only obtain this data indirectly via the back office. This led to a considerable loss of efficiency.
The Solution
To overcome this challenge, we developed a customized solution with the following components:
- Extension of the CPQ data model: We extended the CPQ data model to be able to save product texts for several countries directly in Salesforce.
- Mulesoft-Interface: By implementing a Mulesoft interface, we were able to ensure that the product texts are regularly and automatically updated from SAP to Salesforce.
- Enhancement of CPQ Line Editor We extended the CPQ Line Editor with a custom action that allows you to view product texts of individual quotation items directly.
- Visual Alerts Visual warnings were introduced to draw the sales staff's attention to relevant texts in the quotation items.

- Centralized information: Sales employees now have all relevant information directly available in Salesforce, which significantly increases efficiency.
- Reduced communication costs: Time-consuming e-mail communication with back-office resources regarding product availability is almost completely eliminated.
- Robust and scalable data model: The extended data model is robust and can be used for a wide range of product information, which facilitates future adaptations and extensions.
- Elegant integration: The solution integrates seamlessly into the CPQ standard, maintaining user-friendliness and allowing implementation to be carried out quickly and efficiently.
This customized solution has helped the customer to significantly increase the efficiency of its sales processes, simplify communication and ensure that all relevant product information is always up-to-date and easily accessible.
